Here's a couple link to an "Emergency bill" on ATV safety. Don't we already have this going? And, where is the funding coming from?

I was looking at this bill too... it's very confusing. Can someone more knowledgable on this bill explain what is going on here. I'm concerned about it's effect on OHV funds in Oregon. Thanks!

This bill started out with the right intentions, but was modified with many changes that appear to dillute the current ATV public members and include more government employees. We do NOT need to change a program that is working well, and make it directed entirely by government employees. Our ATV Program is not something that should be tampered with and we plan on getting that message across. We already know how neighboring states have had their ATV funds raided.

The OMRA is currently on the main jet with clubs and senators to get this bill knocked down - firmly. We may need sudden and quick response help from all riders to oppose this bill in a very short time. We should know more by end of day.

This was intended to be a task force to Change class I and II, (make a class for the side by sides and buggies) As per normal it is going who knows where.
Tom Please keep me in the E-mail loop. I was opposed to Lindy and Randy's plan from the start. They have removed me from the loop because of that. I'm ready to be in the battle against this if needed. Terry

Folks, unfortunately, we only found out about this last Friday and we've been working like dogs to organize, poll the user community across the state, collect your thoughts and get them out to the legislature. This is pretty important reading material and will get you up to speed quickly about how some have allowed our ATV fund law to be completely rewritten and abused by using it as a vehicle to deal with a simple safety concept. It's important to remember that all of the safety improvement ideas that spawned this bad piece of legislation could have been addressed via a separate, simple and broad consensus approach. This should be a lesson about unintended consequences of allowing our ATV fund law to be opened up like a playground every legislative session. This fund is too critical and the future of our sport too important to toy with.

Please stay tuned and we’ll let you know how you can help as this approaches a vote in the Legislature.

Oppose SB-578

I am a long time offroad motorcycle enthusiast that has paid into Oregon’s
OHV program for many years. I put a great amount of time and effort giving
back to my sport by performing trailwork and maintenance as my time allows.
I would really like for you to vote ‘No” on SB 578.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.
