Spring 2016 Newsletter

It has been a busy year for the OMRA, several new volunteers/board members, a new schedule of competition events, and a completely new and excellent website. And an awesome awards presentation in February to recognize the accomplishments of the 2015 season.

The first race weekend of the year is in the books and it was a great weekend. Got a break in the weather, had a large turnout of racers (including 16 women on Sunday!) and two entertaining courses with a variety of conditions. Good to see everyone again after the wet winter offseason, great to see so many new people at the events.

Looking forward to the rest of the season! And the season continues with 3 competition events during April, as well as the first Poker Run, at China Hat. Dual Sport and Poker season picks up momentum during May with several more events. Youth Education Update: OMRA’s You Safety Evaluation program is going strong. Last year OMRA’s clubs evaluated 390 kids across Oregon. We truly appreciate clubs and individuals time and effort they put into keeping kids safe and in compliance with the state law in Oregon. We have a OMRA Fun day planned for all our Clubs, Master Evaluators and members on May 21st at La Dee OHV riding area in Clackamas. We will have a fun poker run course set up, free hot dogs and drinks for everyone. Kids can also come who need to have an evaluation done that day. We hope to see you all there. If you ever have questions regarding Youth education or the YSEP program feel free to call Dan Jordan 503-913-0528

Watch the forum and FB for announcements on volunteer work days also. Help keep your public lands and trails open and accessible by helping maintain and build trails! This is a key part of keeping our trails open, and maintaining a good relationship with the land agencies that manage YOUR public lands.

See you on the trail,

Chuck
