Advocacy & Partnerships: How Your Oregon ATV Tag Directly Funds Trails

Did you know your Oregon ATV tag fee supports one of the best OHV registration and trail funding programs in the country?

Every time you purchase an ATV sticker, your dollars go straight back into riding opportunities across Oregon. In addition to registration fees, approximately 38 cents of state gas tax per gallon paid by OHV users is returned to trail systems — adding up to about $100 per sticker invested directly into recreation.

That funding supports:

  • Building and maintaining world-class public trail systems

  • Managing and protecting OHV riding areas

  • Purchasing land for long-term trail access

  • Law enforcement, search and rescue, and safety education programs (roughly one-third of total funding)

The trails we enjoy don’t happen by accident. They exist because riders have consistently invested in them — financially and through volunteer effort.

One way to support this work even further is by becoming a non-competition (general) member of OMRA. Membership helps OMRA advocate for trail funding, protect access, and support the systems that make Oregon a national leader in off-road recreation.
