OMRA Community: In Memoriam – Ellis Cookman

The OMRA community mourns the loss of our dear friend and dedicated racer, Ellis Cookman.

Ellis was more than a familiar face at OMRA events. He embodied the true spirit of off-road racing — showing up with an ever-present smile, offering encouragement to fellow riders, and representing the sportsmanship and camaraderie that define our community.

Whether on the start line or in the pits, Ellis had a way of lifting others up. His kindness, positivity, and genuine love for the sport left a lasting impression on everyone who had the chance to ride alongside him.

While he will be deeply missed, we honor Ellis’s memory by carrying forward what he modeled so well. Take a moment at your next race to greet a fellow racer, offer a word of support, or lend a hand. Small gestures matter, and they are part of what makes OMRA more than just a race series.

Thank you, Ellis, for your contributions to our racing family. You will not be forgotten.
