Races & Events: Women’s Expert Class Added to GP Series

OMRA is excited to announce the addition of a Women’s Expert class for the GP series.

Beginning this season, the new Women’s Expert class will:

  • Race with the Amateur classes

  • Run a 1.5-hour race

  • Use blue number backgrounds with white numbers and the letter “K”

This update creates a clearer competitive pathway for women racing at a higher level while keeping GP racing aligned and balanced.

Number Plate Update & Grace Period

We recognize this change comes later in the season, and some riders may have already purchased number backgrounds. To account for that, OMRA will implement a grace period for enforcement, so there’s no need to panic. Please allow a few days for the new class to be added to the online signup system.

Class Structure Clarification

  • The existing women’s class will now be designated Women’s Amateur, continuing to run yellow backgrounds with black numbers and the letter “W.”

  • For XC and Sprint Enduro (SE) events, women’s classes will remain merged for the 2018 season. OMRA hopes that increased participation will support adopting the two-class format in those series in the future.

This update reflects OMRA’s ongoing commitment to growing women’s racing in a way that supports fair competition, progression, and participation across all series.
